Old rivals Manchester United and Arsenal go head-to-head at Old Trafford in a mouth-watering Premier League fixture on Thursday night. New United manager Ralf Rangnick will not be in the dugout for this one, but the German will be scrutinising his side. The Red Devils have been woeful at home in the league this season, and the Manchester giants will be desperate for a win here. However, the Gunners head to the Theatre of Dreams having lost just one game since August. Thursday’s tussle promises to be a cracker – check out the latest odds and tips.

Manchester United Preview – Will the Red Devils seal a much-needed three points?

After a 4-1 loss at Watford last month, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked as Manchester United manager, with Michael Carrick stepping in for the last two. Carrick has done a decent job, guiding the side to a 2-0 UEFA Champions League win at Villarreal and a 1-1 Premier League draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The club waited little time in finding Solskjaer’s successor, with the experienced Ralf Rangnick being appointed. The German is an extremely experienced manager, but how will he fare in the Premier League? The 63-year-old will not officially take charge until he receives a work permit.

Man United will be desperate for all three points having not won at Old Trafford in the league since beating Newcastle United 4-1 on 11th September. The home victory is priced at 19/20.

Arsenal Preview – Can the Gunners upset their rivals at Old Trafford?

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are certainly heading in the right direction. The Gunners have lost just one game in all competitions since August. However, that defeat was a heavy one in their last away league match, crashing to a 4-0 reverse to Liverpool at Anfield.

After the humbling loss in Merseyside, Arsenal bounced back with a comfortable 2-0 home win over Eddie Howe’s Newcastle last weekend. Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli netted in that one.

Since back-to-back draws with Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace in October, Arsenal have won five of their following six league and cup games. Can they leave Manchester in midweek with three points?

Manchester United vs Arsenal Betting Advice

Arsenal had the better of the meetings in the 2020-21 season. Back in November 2020, a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang penalty gave the Gunners a 1-0 win in Manchester. The matchup at the Emirates Stadium in January ended in a forgettable 0-0 draw.

Arsenal are unbeaten in the last six Premier League meetings, winning three and drawing three. United’s last victory was a 2-1 home success back in April 2018.

Key Facts – Manchester United vs Arsenal Betting Tip

  • Man United have taken just one point from their last four home league games
  • Arsenal have suffered only one defeat since August
  • The Gunners are unbeaten in six in the league against the Red Devils

Arsenal have a good recent record in this fixture, not losing in league action to United since 2018. They bounced back well from the Liverpool defeat, and we fancy the London side to hold the Red Devils to a draw here. The draw at half time and full time is nicely priced at 5/1.

England international Bukayo Saka is having another exceptional season at Arsenal. The winger, who scored in the last one, has netted five times for club and country this term. Back Saka to score anytime on Thursday at 4/1.
