Manchester United Preview – Can the Red Devils bounce back?

Manchester United’s top-four hopes have been dealt a huge blow after a poor run of results in recent weeks. Not too long along, the Red Devils looked a good bet to secure UEFA Champions League football for next season, but Ralf Rangnick’s men have slipped six points away from fourth.

Man United have just had a week to forget, losing to rivals Liverpool and Arsenal. They were hammered 4-0 at Anfield last Tuesday before suffering a disappointing 3-1 reverse at the Emirates Stadium at the weekend. Since beating Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford in mid-March, the Red Devils have taken just four points from a possible 15.

With United’s top-four ambitions now hanging by a thread, only three points from this one will do for Ralf Rangnick and his men. The bookies have the home win priced at 11/5.

Chelsea Preview – Will the Blues continue their stunning away form?

Chelsea have had a tough time off and on the pitch of late. However, last weekend’s last-gasp Premier League win over rivals West Ham United certainly lifted some of the pressure. Christian Pulisic netted in injury time to give the Blues the points.

The win over the Hammers ended a run of three successive defeats at Stamford Bridge, but Tuchel’s men have been superb on their travels. Since a 1-1 league draw at Brighton & Hove Albion in January, the Blues have won ten in a row (in normal time) away from the Bridge. In their last away game, they won 3-2 at Real Madrid in the Champions League but were eliminated on aggregate.

Manchester United vs Chelsea Betting Advice

The last three Premier League meetings between these two English heavyweights have ended in draws. Both matches last season finished goalless, and this term’s reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge in November was a 1-1 draw – Jorginho’s penalty cancelled out Jadon Sancho’s goal.

Chelsea have not beaten Man United in the league since a 1-0 home win at Stamford Bridge in November 2017, with Alvaro Morata scoring the only goal of the game in the capital.

Key Facts – Manchester United vs Chelsea Betting Tip

  • Man United have lost three of their last four
  • Chelsea are unbeaten away from home since January
  • The Blues have not beaten the Red Devils in the league since 2017

Man United are in bad form at present, while Chelsea will be buoyed after last weekend’s victory over West Ham. Tuchel’s men have been excellent on their travels of late, and we can see the Londoners piling more misery on the Manchester club on Thursday. Put some money on the Chelsea win at 5/4.

Christian Pulisic came off the bench to net a late winner on Sunday, and the American is available at 5/2 to score anytime at Old Trafford.
