Manchester United Preview – Can United make it three straight home wins for the first time in over a year?

There was a real momentum building with this United team before the shutdown of football and there were signs of that again in the second half against Tottenham on Friday night. The game against Spurs may have finished 1-1 but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team were the stronger finishers, particularly when Paul Pogba was introduced. It means United are now unbeaten in their last six Premier League games and looking to make it seven for the first time in over a year.

Whilst that is all positive, the two dropped points against Spurs combined with Chelsea’s win on Sunday means the gap between themselves and fourth spot is six points.

Pogba’s return will give United another option – one they have not had properly all season for a multitude of reasons. The prospect of him playing alongside the impressive Bruno Fernandes is exciting many of United’s support and their link-up play was apparent in the time they were on the park together.

United may be improving their record is still underwhelming with three wins in their last 10 league games. If they are to finish in the top four then you suspect they will have to win at least six of their last eight matches.

Sheffield United Preview – Will the Blades bounce back from disappointing weekend defeat and move above opponents?

Whatever happens between now and the end of the season there’s no getting away from how good Sheffield United have been. Promoted from the Championship and playing at this level for the first time since 2007, to be challenging for European football with eight games to go is a superb achievement from the players and staff. It’s also a measure of how well they have done that them falling behind in the race for the Champions League is such a disappointment.

A goalless draw away to Aston Villa (where they were denied a legitimate goal) and a surprise 3-0 loss away to Newcastle is not how Chris Wilder would have envisaged his team resuming.

Sheffield United have earned many plaudits for their bold style of play and teams have found it very difficult to combat. That’s evident when you see they have lost just three of their 15 away games so far. Only Liverpool and Manchester City had beaten them before that defeat at St James’s Park.

Wins have been harder to come by on their travels of late, however, with only one in their last six. Managing just two goals in that run of matches.

Manchester United vs Sheffield United Betting Advice

The game between these two earlier in the season was one of the most memorable of the campaign to date. The teams shared six goals and the points on that occasion but a draw is not going to be much use to either club in their efforts for the top four.

A win for the home team would surely end Sheffield United’s hopes of Champions League football but they know taking all three points would see them go above their hosts.

Key Facts – Manchester United vs Sheffield United Betting Tip

    • It’s now a six point gap between United and Chelsea in fourth following the weekend results
    • Sheffield United have drawn eight away games this season, the joint highest in the Premier League
    • It was a very entertaining 3-3 draw when the teams met at Bramall Lane back in November

These teams have been alongside each other throughout the season and it’s unlikely there will be much between them tomorrow. Home advantage may just swing it in United’s favour and with the Blades being blunt in attack on the road of late, a win to nil could be the way to go here.
