Both Tottenham and West Brom are in desperate need of a win for different reasons which makes Sunday’s clash hugely important for the two clubs.

Marseille Preview – Can crisis club Marseille find a big performance and result to end what has been a dismal week?

Marseille never seem to be far away from drama and the two have been hand in hand for much of the season. It has culminated in the last couple of weeks with the Ultras attacking the club’s training ground, players being signed without the coach knowing and that eventually ending with Andre Villas-Boas being suspended by the club after he spoke out against the direction the club was going in.

Nasser Larguet, who was in charge of the academy, is in interim charge and he has a huge job on his hands. Wednesday’s 2-2 draw away to Lens was the first points Marseille have taken in four Ligue 1 games and they have not won a game since the 6th of January (two draws, four defeats).

European qualification would have been the minimum Marseille were aiming for considering they qualified for the Champions League last season but it now looks like they have a job on their hands to even do that. They are four points off fifth place Rennes but do have a game in hand.
Larguet will take some positives from Wednesday’s match as Marseille did take a two goal lead and it also seen Arkadiusz Milik get his first goal since joining from Napoli. They’ve lacked a threat this season so that will be a boost for all concerned.

PSG Preview – Will PSG show their champion credentials and keep pace with the current leaders?

PSG’s domination of French football is well known but it’s not been impenetrable. Monaco proved that they can be bettered over the course of a season back in 2016/17 and it looks like the Parisians are going to be in for a similar campaign once again. Thomas Tuchel has been replaced by a former captain of the club in Mauricio Pochettino and he will be aware of the challenge that awaits.

The champions are in third and three points behind leaders Lille. It’s all to play for but the winner look likely to be from one of the top four.

Unsurprisingly, PSG’s are most vulnerable playing on their travels with five defeats in 11 away games so far in this league campaign. It’s the reason why they are in third just now and the area which they have to improve on between now and the end of the season if they are to retain their title.

Whilst it looks increasingly likely that Neymar (who has six goals in 10 Ligue 1 games this season) is going to commit his long-term future to the club, he was missing from training this week so his inclusion in the team for Sunday is not guaranteed.

Marseille vs PSG Betting Advice

Le Classique is traditionally the biggest game in French football but due to Marseille’s plight this season, PSG’s biggest games will come against Lille, Lyon and Monaco – their title rivals. That said, this is going to be a huge game in the context of the visitor’s season. Marseille are not in good form but they will raise their game in this match and also inflicted defeat on PSG in Paris at the beginning of the season.

Key Facts – Marseille vs PSG Betting Tip

  • Marseille are six games without a win and playing their first home match in the post Andre Villas-Boas era
  • PSG have won just two of their last six away games in Ligue 1
  • It was a rare victory in Paris for Marseille earlier in the season in what was a very fiery affair

You have to go all the way back to 2011 for the last time Marseille beat PSG at home. I can’t see them ending that tomorrow and instead see this being being a dominant away way. Take PSG to be winning at half time and full time.
