MIDDLESBROUGH v BLACKBURN ROVERS

Saturday 8th December 2018 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

Middlesbrough will be keen to return to winning ways when they welcome Blackburn Rovers to the Riverside stadium as the betting tips continue in the Championship.

Middlesbrough were handed a heavy 3-0 defeat at home to Aston Villa last weekend which ended a seven match unbeaten run under manager Tony Pulis, so no doubt Boro will be keen to produce a positive response at home again this Saturday where they hold a record of  5-3-2 10/6.

The hosts will also be keen to rekindle their early season form at the Riverside which saw them win four of their first five matches with wins over Sheffield United, Birmingham City, West Brom and Bolton, but have managed just one win from their last five at home.

Boro continue to be hard to beat though as they’ve amassed 7 clean sheets in 10 home matches to date while the likes of Assombalonga (5 goals), Hugill and Braithwaite (3 goals each) strike at the other end.

Blackburn Rovers ended a three match run without a win in the Championship last weekend when they secured a 4-2 win at home against Sheffield Wednesday which lifted Blackburn up to 10th place on the Championship ladder.

Previously, Rovers could only muster a point with a 1-1 draw at home against Rotherham United and then suffered heavy back-to-back defeats at Lancashire rivals Preston North End 4-1 and Wigan Athletic 3-1 respectively.

The visitors have lost three of their last four on their travels amidst an overall away record of  3-3-4  12/19 so perhaps their early momentum is just starting to fade on their travels, as is their defence possibly?

Rovers have shipped 2 goals or more in 6 of their 10 away matches to date as former Middlesbrough boss and player, Tony Mowbray looks to shore up his defence against Boro today.

Midfielder Dack (9 goals) and Graham (7 goals) represent Blackburn’s main goal threats, but a leaky defence could undo their good work again here, with the betting tips suggesting a Middlesbrough win.
