Middlesbrough to continue momentum against Rotherham

Championship Tips

MIDDLESBROUGH v ROTHERHAM UNITED

Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

As well as European action this week, there’s also domestic football from England and my next pick features Championship league leaders Middlesbrough taking on Rotherham United as the betting tips continue on Tuesday night.

On Friday night, Middlesbrough laid down a marker and a statement of intent when they grabbed all three points in a valuable 2-1 win away at Sheffield Wednesday, and with Sheffield United slipping up away at Derby County, Boro moved top on goal difference.

A sacked former Premier League manager can be a dangerous beast, and Tony Pulis no doubt has a point to prove as he looks to take Middlesbrough back up to the top flight, and with just one defeat from their last six and wins over Bolton Wanderers, Ipswich Town and Wednesday, his side will be confident of another win at The Riverside stadium on Tuesday night.

Middlesbrough’s home record stands at  4-1-1  7/2 and they’ve kept five clean sheets on home turf already this season. Forwards Assombalonga (5 goals) and Braithwaite (3 goals) are the main goal threats for the hosts.

Onto Rotherham United and Paul Warne’s side will make the trip to the north-east on the back of six matches without a win in the Championship, a run that consists of three draws against Stoke City, Bristol City and Bolton Wanderers, but also defeats to Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Birmingham City.

More significantly, the three aforementioned defeats all came away from home where The Millers possess a woeful record which stands at  0-0-6  2/14, which includes the lowest goals scored away from home in the division and the second worst defensive record only to Preston North End.

Indeed, it’s a staggering 31 away matches without a win for Rotherham and I just can’t see them turning things around against an in-form Boro side and an ultra-motivated Tony Pulis.
