Jonathan Woodgate’s Middlesbrough have really turned a corner of late. Before falling to a narrow defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage last Friday night, Boro had won four and drawn one of five in the league. The club are now ten points clear of the drop zone.

Pep Clotet’s Birmingham City have found life tough going in recent months. Despite a promising start, the Blues have gone off the boil, winning only one of their last eight in the Championship. Last weekend, they were held to a 1-1 home draw by Cardiff City.
Birmingham’s last two wins in the league have come away from St Andrew’s. In their previous away fixture, goals from Lukas Jutkiewicz and Gary Gardner gave the Blues an invaluable 2-1 victory against Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.
