Millwall Preview – Can Millwall win back-to-back at home?
9th placed Millwall may well be kicking themselves as the hosts came pretty close to claiming a top six finish under manager, Gary Rowett, with a lean period from the end of January to the start of March virtually ending their chances of a play-off spot.
Millwall claimed just one win during an eight-match sequence which was a 1-0 win away from home at Preston North End but three defeats against Leeds United, West Brom and Wigan Athletic respectively put paid to Millwall’s progress and even points picked up in draws with Sheffield Wednesday, Fulham, Birmingham City and Bristol City weren’t enough to sustain Millwall’s bid.
However, three wins from their last five matches overall gives Millwall a decent chance of at least ending their campaign on a high note as The Lions will look to record back-to-back wins at The Den following last week’s 1-0 win against Blackburn Rovers.
Huddersfield Town Preview – Can Huddersfield back up West Brom result?
A 2-1 home win against automatic promotion candidates, West Brom, all but sealed Huddersfield Town’s safety in the Championship on the weekend and barring any freak results in this last day of the season, The Terriers should be looking forward to a better campaign next time around under the managership of Danny Cowley.
Huddersfield’s safety was looking touch and go throughout the majority of the season but Danny Cowley managed to rally his troops whenever a win was needed and they did just about enough to keep their heads above water, despite s worrying period either side of the lockdown which saw Huddersfield suffer three defeats on the trot to Leeds United, Wigan Athletic and Nottingham Forest.
One defeat from their subsequent six matches however, has kept Huddersfield from the relegation mire, but having won just one of their last eight matches on the road, there’s still a lot of work for Huddersfield to do if they’re to get anything at The Den on Wednesday night.
