Millwall Preview – Can Millwall inch closer to top six?

Wednesday’s hosts have a decent chance of doing just that as they prepare for this upcoming clash against lowly Middlesbrough at The Den with Millwall heading into this encounter on the back of a valuable 1-0 win away from home at London rivals, Charlton Athletic, on the weekend.

Millwall have now lost just once in their last seven matches as Gary Rowett’s side continue to maintain their chances of a possible play-off spot with wins against Nottingham Forest and Charlton away from home along with picking up points in draws with Birmingham City, Bristol City, Barnsley and Swansea City.

However, before we get too carried away, The Lions have failed to win any of their last six matches at home which includes defeats to West Brom and Derby County, along with four draws – this therefore doesn’t inspire me to back Millwall for the win here but the hosts should at least avoid defeat.

Our betting suggestion:
Both teams to score

Middlesbrough Preview – Can Middlesbrough avoid third defeat on trot?

New Middlesbrough boss, Neil Warnock’s joy was short-lived after he saw his side record a much-needed 2-0 win away from home at Stoke City in his first game in charge as Boro have subsequently slipped to back-to-back defeats in the Championship, leaving the north-east outfit in the relegation zone.

Boro have lost three of their last four matches overall in the Championship with an earlier 3-0 defeat at home to Swansea City, while on the road, the visitors have managed to capture just two wins from their previous seven matches on their travels.

The bigger picture paints an even gloomier picture for Middlesbrough as they’ve won just four of their last 20 matches away from home in the second tier, and they’ll be up against a solid Millwall outfit here.
