Millwall Preview – Will the Lions make it back-to-back wins?

With the pressure starting to mount on Gary Rowett, Millwall picked up a priceless three points in midweek. The Lions were certainly the underdogs at Ashton Gate, but Tom Bradshaw’s 18th-minute goal sent them on their way to a vital victory. Mason Bennett doubled the Londoners’ advantage deep in the second half.

Prior to the win in Bristol, Millwall had gone ten games without victory. After a 2-0 win at Preston North End in October, the London side went on to draw six and lose four of their following ten.

The Den is usually a tough place to visit, but Millwall have not won at home since October. The 2-0 victory over Luton Town remains their only league success of the campaign. Rowett’s boys will be desperate for maximum points on home turf this Saturday.

Nottingham Forest Preview – Reds to leave London with a point?

Like Millwall, Nottingham Forest also went into their midweek match in poor form. The Reds had failed to win any of their previous seven in the Championship, losing six and drawing one.

However, Chris Hughton’s troops secured a precious three points over fellow strugglers Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night. Yuri Ribeiro opened the scoring after just four minutes, with Lewis Grabban making sure of the points with three minutes to go.

Nottingham Forest have been in woeful form away from home. Hughton started life at Forest with an excellent 1-0 win at Blackburn Rovers and 1-1 draw at Luton, but the Reds have gone on to lose each of their last five on the road. Can the East Midlands club seal a rare victory on their travels this weekend?

Millwall vs Nottingham Forest Betting Advice

Millwall were very impressive at the City Ground when the two teams last met. Big Matt Smith was the hero, scoring a first-half treble in a 3-0 win for the Lions. The game at The Den produced four goals, with Aiden O’Brien’s last-gasp effort earning Millwall a home point.

Key Facts – Millwall vs Nottingham Forest Betting Tip

  • Millwall are unbeaten in their last five against Nottingham Forest, winning three and drawing two
  • The Lions have picked up just one home league win this term
  • Forest have won only once away from home in this season’s Championship

With both sides picking up much-needed wins in midweek, the pair would love to follow that up with another three points on Saturday. However, on paper, these two look well matched, and we fancy this to end all square in south London. The 1-1 draw at 5/1 has caught our eye.

As we touched on, Matt Smith single-handedly gave Millwall the points when these clubs last met, netting an impressive hat-trick at the City Ground. The 31-year-old is available at 21/10 to score anytime on Saturday.
