Gary Rowett’s Millwall have been in patchy form of late, winning just two of their previous eight Championship matches. Since drawing three in a row in November, the Lions have gone on to lose three and draw two of their following five in the league.
Millwall kicked off 2022 with a disappointing 3-2 away league defeat at Bristol City. They led at one point, but Andreas Weimann’s third goal of the game with five minutes to go gave the Robins the points at Ashton Gate. Since taking over from Chris Hughton, Steve Cooper has taken Nottingham Forest from relegation fodder to genuine top-six contenders. The Reds are in ninth position at present with 34 points to their name.
Forest were going great guns, but the Midlands outfit head to the capital having lost their last two in the Championship. After a 2-0 reverse at Middlesbrough, Forest were beaten 1-0 at home by Huddersfield Town. However, they did stun Arsenal in the FA Cup last time out.
