Millwall Prediction – Can Millwall continue unbeaten run?

Millwall’s revival under new manager, Gary Rowett, continued last Saturday when his side grabbed a decent point at St Andrews against one of Rowett’s former clubs, Birmingham City, and in turn extended Millwall’s unbeaten sequence to 4 matches in the Championship.

Recent back-to-back wins against London rivals, Charlton Athletic in a 2-1 home win and a 1-0 win away at Swansea City were followed by back-to-back draws with Wigan Athletic 2-2 at The Den and the aforementioned point away at Birmingham City.

The Lions have slowly but steadily clawed their way out of the immediate vicinity of the relegation zone as a result of this improved run of form under Rowett, and having lost just once at home in the Championship, may well fancy their chances of getting something out of their Friday night clash against Nottingham Forest.

Millwall’s home record stands at a fairly solid looking 5-3-1 14/9 which would normally lend itself to backing the hosts here but Nottingham Forest also hold a similar record away from home; the goals market therefore appeals as 6 of Millwall’s 9 matches have seen both teams score.

Nottingham Forest Prediction – Can Forest draw level with Fulham?

All three points for the visitors in this Friday night clash at The Den would see Nottingham Forest draw level on points with 3rd placed Fulham as Sabri Lamouchi’s side look to bounce back from their recent disappointing defeat at home to Cardiff City.

Forest had previously been steadily building positive momentum under Lamouchi as the Tricky Trees had put together a promising 4-match unbeaten run in the Championship, but as is so often the case with Forest, just when you think they’re building up a head of steam they go and shoot themselves in the foot and suffer a seemingly unlikely defeat.

So, dare we back them on the road at Millwall on Friday night? Forest’s away record also stands at a fairly solid looking 5-4-1 15/8 with their one defeat being a narrow 1-0 defeat away at Wigan Athletic, but while they’ve picked up wins at Fulham, Swansea City, Stoke City, Luton Town and QPR, they just can’t be trusted to get all three points here I fancy.

Instead, with 6 of their 10 away matches this season resulting in both teams scoring, this looks the safer option where Forest are concerned.
