Millwall Preview – Can the Lions extend unbeaten home record?

Millwall have been in patchy form of late, drawing three, losing two and winning just one of the last six. Instead of building on a solid 3-1 home win over Birmingham City, the Lions crashed to a poor 2-1 defeat at lowly Peterborough last time out.

On a positive note, Millwall have been very tough to beat at The Den this season, with only Fulham and Luton Town leaving with all three points. They are undefeated in five on their own patch, beating Stoke City, Reading and Birmingham, and drawing with Derby County and Bournemouth.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score

Millwall will be desperate to get back to winning ways after the narrow loss at the Weston Homes Stadium. The bookies are offering 13/10 for a home win.

Preston North End Preview – Will Lowe make it six points from two games?

Preston North End recently parted company with Frankie McAvoy, replacing him with Ryan Lowe, who was previously in charge of EFL League One outfit Plymouth Argyle. Lowe’s reign at Deepdale got off to a winning start last weekend, as goals from Alan Browne and Daniel Johnson gave them a 2-1 home success over Barnsley.

Preston have been solid at Deepdale this season, but the Lancashire club have struggled for away wins. Having said that, their two away victories have come in the last four. Last time out on the road, they lost to Lancashire rivals Blackburn Rovers.

Millwall vs Preston North End Betting Advice

Millwall beat Preston home and away in the 2020-21 Championship. Back in October 2020, Kenneth Zohore and Jed Wallace were on target in a 2-0 Lions win. Scott Malone and Mason Bennett then netted in a 2-1 victory at The Den in March 2021.

Millwall have won the last four meetings, conceding just one goal along the way. Preston’s last victory in this fixture was a 3-1 success at The Den back in February 2019.

Key Facts – Millwall vs Preston North End Betting Tip

  • The Lions have won just one of six
  • Preston have won half of their past eight Championship games
  • The Lions have won four in a row against North End

Millwall are not an easy nut to crack, especially at The Den. However, Preston will fancy their chances of following up the Barnsley win with three points in the capital. Lowe’s troops are nicely priced at 21/10 to get the victory.

Preston’s Emil Ris Jakobsen has been in fine goalscoring form this season, netting 12 league and cup goals in 26 appearances. Put some money on the 23-year-old to score anytime in this one.
