Millwall and West Bromwich Albion clash at The Den in a tasty fixture in the EFL Championship on Sunday afternoon. The Baggies moved back to the top of the division with a 2-0 win over Luton Town last time out, while the Lions are currently five points away from the play-off places. This is a huge fixture for both teams.

Millwall Preview – Can the Lions seal a fourth successive home league win?

Gary Rowett has done a terrific job at Millwall since taking over at The Den back in October. Only Reading, Barnsley and Leeds United have beaten Rowett’s Lions in league action. However, Millwall are without a win in three league and cup matches, losing two and drawing one.

Millwall let a 2-0 lead slip to lose 3-2 at Elland Road recently. The Londoners followed that up with a 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough last time out. Before those games, Millwall were beaten at home by Sheffield United in the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score
5/6

Nonetheless, Millwall are well and truly in the mix for promotion at the minute. The Lions start the weekend just five points adrift of sixth spot. Can they get back to winning ways and send out a real signal of intent to their promotion rivals this weekend?

West Bromwich Albion Preview – Will the league’s best away team claim another victory on the road?

West Bromwich Albion have been in poor form over the last six weeks or so. In fact, last weekend’s win over Luton was the Baggies’ first Championship success since winning 3-2 at Birmingham City on December 14th.

Last Saturday’s victory over the Hatters was just what the doctor ordered. An own goal and a Semi Ajayi effort gave Albion a much-needed 2-0 home win. With Leeds losing at Elland Road to lowly Wigan Athletic, West Brom moved back to the top of the Championship table.

West Brom have the best away record in the league, accumulating a superb 29 points from 15 away games. Slaven Bilic’s boys have won eight, drawn five and lost only two. No side have conceded fewer on the road, either, as Albion have shipped just 13. Can the Midlands outfit secure maximum points on their travels this weekend?

Millwall vs West Bromwich Albion Betting Advice

Millwall have been a thorn in West Brom’s side this season. In August, the Lions drew 1-1 at The Hawthorns in Championship action, with Matt Smith’s late equaliser earning a point for the visitors. The London side then beat West Brom 2-1 at The Hawthorns in an EFL Cup match just a few days later.

Key Facts – Millwall vs West Bromwich Albion Betting Tip

  • Millwall have won each of their last three Championship games at The Den
  • West Brom have the best away record in the league at the moment
  • Millwall have won one and drawn one of the two league and cup meetings between the pair this season

Millwall are unbeaten in their last three meetings with the Baggies, and I fancy the Lions to hold the leaders to a frustrating draw on Sunday. There’s good value in the draw and both teams to score at 7/2.
