There’s almost a full slate of fixtures in League One on Tuesday night too, and my next pick features a resurgent MK Dons outfit taking on Southend United in a mid-table clash at the stadium:mk with both teams keen to move up into a top half position in the league table.
MK Dons have staged something of a mini revival in recent weeks as they’ve won three of their last four matches overall, and have lost just once in their last five in League One which has helped lift them to a more respectable 13th place in the league ladder.
The Dons have gained points in stalemates with Walsall, Oldham Athletic and Saturday’s point at The Valley against Charlton Athletic, along with a 1-0 home win over Fleetwood Town, while their home record now reads a more reasonable 3-4-2 12/13. On home turf, they’ve lost just once in their last eight.
Visitors Southend United succumbed to a 1-0 defeat away at Portsmouth on Saturday and they now face another away match in Milton Keynes on Tuesday night as they look to improve upon a rather mediocre away record of 2-1-6 10/21.
Southend’s results so far this season have been inconsistent to say the least, and although they registered back-to-back wins over Bury and Walsall, The Shrimps quickly dropped the ball when they lost against Pompey.
In addition, Southend also possess the leakiest defensive record away from home in League One to date by conceding 21 goals as well as keeping just one clean sheet on their travels too. With seven defeats from their last 10 matches on the road, I’ll back the hosts with the well priced draw no bet.
