Mlada Boleslav have first chance of getting a lead in this third qualifying round tie first leg against Albanian side, Skenderbeu, following their previous round win over Irish club, Shamrock Rovers.
Mlada Boleslav finished in fourth place at the end of last season’s Czech Liga top flight campaign which earned them a passage into the Europa League, and they passed their first test with a second qualifying round win over Shamrock Rovers, winning 5-2 on aggregate with a 3-2 win away from home, and a solid 2-0 home win in the second leg.
The hosts will be looking to chalk up a fourth consecutive win at this level overall, while their form at their M?stský stadion in the Europa League has been a mixed bag. Watch out for forwards Chramosta and Mebrahtu as possible anytime goalscorers.
Visitors Skenderbeu have had to enter the Europa League at the early stages but so far they’ve recorded wins over Andorran club, Sant Julia 6-0 on aggregate in the first qualifying round, which they then followed up with a 3-1 aggregate win in the second qualifying round over Kairat.
But this third round clash will be Skenderbeu’s biggest test yet in these early rounds of the Europa League, particularly when you consider that they suffered five defeats away from home in last season’s Albanian Superliga campaign, which saw them finish in third spot.
Skenderbeu possess a short history at this level, and have recorded just one away win from their previous six ties on their travels.
