Norwegian club, Molde, will play host to Scottish top flight side, Hibernian, as my betting tips continue in the Europa League on Thursday night with Molde now holding home advantage in this decisive second leg.
Following last week’s 0-0 stalemate at Easter Road, Molde now seemingly sit in the driving seat for this second leg at their Aker Stadion, and having put together a six-match unbeaten run in all competitions ahead of this encounter, they must be favourites to progress.
Molde have reached the third qualifying round following wins over Glenavon 6-3 on aggregate and a 5-0 aggregate win over Albanian outfit, Laci, and they also possess a solid record at home in Europa League ties as they’ve lost just twice in their last nine matches on home turf.
Notable wins during this sequence include wins over Standard Liege, Celtic and Sevilla.
Hibernian face a tough trip to Norway to face a well organised Molde side in their own backyard after being held to a 0-0 draw in last week’s first leg at Easter Road. Although this result extended Hibernian’s unbeaten run in all competitions to seven matches, it’ll be a tough ask to get a result at Molde tonight.
Hibs have reached this stage of the Europa League after recording wins against NSI 12-5 on aggregate and a 4-3 aggregate win over Asteras Tripolis, but their results away from home in this competition have been fairly average in their short history at this level.
Defeats at AEK Athens, Maribor, Malmo and Brondby may prove that this final hurdle against Molde will be too much for the visitors on Thursday night.
