Motherwell v Celtic Betting Tip both teams to score – 29 November 2017

Motherwell can be more competitive this time

Scottish Premiership Betting Tips

Wednesday 28th November Kickoff: 1945hrs Motherwell v Celtic Football – Scotland – Scottish Premiership Wednesday will be the second of three meetings in the space of six days for Motherwell and Celtic. The two contested the Scottish League Cup final on Sunday when Celtic were able to retain the trophy they won 12 months ago. Wednesday’s match is the first of two league meetings in four days as ‘Well attempt to become the first Scottish team in 66 games to end Celtic’s unbeaten run. They’ll still be smarting from their defeat on Sunday and will be confident of putting on a better show in front of their own supporters.

It has been an extremely positive start to the season for Motherwell and Stephen Robinson, who assumed charge in February of this year. The Steelmen have won seven of their 13 league games and find themselves in 5th spot with 22 points. Sunday was the culmination of an excellent cup run which seen them dispatch Aberdeen and Rangers en route to the final where they just came up short. Their cause wasn’t helped with some dubious refereeing decisions but Robinson will be slight disappointed that his team were unable to trouble their opponents more. Now returned to Fir Park, he will be looking to utilise the physicality that his team have become renowned for and unsettling the Champions. Their home record is somewhat inconsistent with four wins and three defeats thus far, but the recent 2-0 win away to second place Aberdeen will give them confidence.

The success continues to come domestically for Celtic as they picked up their fourth straight trophy in Scotland. Brendan Rodgers has yet to taste defeat against a Scottish side and he was visibly delighted not only to win on Sunday but to do it on the back of a sobering 7-1 loss against PSG on Wednesday in the Champions League. That level of football remains beyond Celtic but they have no such trouble mopping up trophy after trophy and dominating the Scottish game. Records have been broken ever since Rodgers has arrived at Celtic but it’s winning games that counts and he will be well aware of the challenge that awaits his team on Wednesday. The Hoops have a 100% away record this season and have looked better on their travels than at home, but they will be in for a battle against a hurting Motherwell team.

Motherwell v Celtic Betting Tip

Although other teams have taken points off Celtic through draws, it’s probably fair to say that Motherwell are still the team who have come closest to beating Celtic in Scotland. ‘Well were 2-0 and 3-2 up last season when the two clashed at Fir Park in December of last year. Celtic recovered to win 4-3 but it was a thorough examination and Wednesday has all the makings of a similar encounter. Robinson and his players will feel hard done by the sending off and penalty that was awarded against them on Sunday and will be using that as further motivation to try and get the win. Out of all three games in this spell against Celtic it’s hard to envisage they will get a better chance of getting a victory than Wednesday’s game. Celtic, on the other hand, will just be looking to pick up where they have left off and having conceded only one goal in their seven away games in the league, the task awaiting Motherwell is an obvious one.

Motherwell have it in them to score a goal however, and would have done on Sunday if it wasn’t for an amazing save from Craig Gordon. They have scored 10 in seven home games and with Louis Moult in red hot form, they can oblige in their part of the both teams to score bet.
