Motherwell Preview – Can Motherwell get back to winning ways and boost their hopes of third place?

It’s looking very likely that Motherwell are going to battle it out with Aberdeen for third spot. It’s been the case for much of the season and the Fir Park club hold a three point lead over their rivals. The champions eventually obliged having conceded the first goal, going on to win 4-1. It was a fourth straight win in the league and another example of how they can find different ways of winning games.

The three late goals against Hamilton to give Celtic the win was in stark contrast to a hugely impressive first half showing away to St Johnstone the midweek previous. Lennon knows it’s all about winning games at this stage of the season.

Odsonne Edouard continues to dazzle leading the line for Celtic. The young French striker moved to 18 league goals for the season but it’s his overall play which is so impressive. He is also in double figures for assists and appears to be getting better with each passing game.

Being paired with Griffiths up front in the last few weeks means he can drop deep and entice opposition defenders to come into areas they don’t want to be. That in turn creates space for his team-mates to operate in and it’s added a different dimension to Celtic’s play.

‘Well have held Celtic in three of their last four meetings at Fir Park and took the lead when the sides met here back in August only to lose 5-2. Robinson will certainly have his team up for this following their defeat to Livi so the visitors will have to be ready.
