New York RB Preview – Can New York RB continue their good form and stretch their unbeaten run to six matches?
Gerhard Struber celebrates a year in charge of New York RB this month but he has little time to savour the moment as he attempts to get his team into the playoffs. The Austrian arrived at the tail end of last season and although they got to the post season it was short-lived as the Red Bulls exited at the Conference quarter-final game against eventual MLS Cup winners Columbus Crew.
Red Bulls sit ninth at the moment and a couple of places outside the playoff positions. They’ve got five points to make up on Montreal who are currently seventh but perhaps importantly they do have a game in hand over that rival and all but one of the other teams above them.
They come into this game unbeaten in their last five with three wins in that run of games. It’s been much needed as they had won just one of their previous 11 MLS games which had looked like all but ending their hopes for the season.
Their home form remains a problem, though, as it’s one victory in their last nine. Struber will focus on the positive that they have only lost two in that period but they really do need to start turning draws into wins.
Inter Miami Preview – Will a flagging Inter Miami rediscover some form to end a run of four straight defeats?
Phil Neville has not had his critics to seek in his first season coaching in the MLS and he will have a lot more should his Inter Miami team not start putting a run of wins together. Now in their second season, the Florida-based club are on a run of four straight losses that has seen them drop to 11th in the Eastern Conference.
That run of four defeats has seen them concede 11 goals and score only once. Considering the backing that Neville has had it just isn’t good enough.

You have to go back to the 22nd of August (nine games ago) for the last time Miami scored more than one goal in a game. It’s something they have done just seven times and an indication as to why they find themselves eight points outside the playoff spots. Their 25 goals scored is the lowest in the whole of the MLS.
When you consider they have a player like Gonzalo Higuain leading the line it suggests that there are problems in the build-up play and approach to creating chances. The former Real Madrid and Juventus striker has 10 goals to his name. The next highest scorer has only four.
