Nevertheless, that disastrous loss to Tottenham again underlined United’s apparent disconnect amongst the squad under Solskjaer, and another defeat away at Newcastle United could start some serious questions being asked of the Dane’s ability to lead such a side as the Red Devils.
That said, Manchester United are unbeaten in their last eight away matches, winning their last five on the road on the trot but they did lose 1-0 in their last visit to St James’ Park, so the three points are by no means guaranteed on Saturday evening.
