Nice Preview – Will the Eaglets maintain unbeaten start?

Nice have kicked off their season in fine style. Their game with Marseille was abandoned, so the Eaglets have picked up three wins and a draw from their opening four matches in Ligue 1.

On the opening weekend, Christophe Galtier’s side were held to a 0-0 draw by Reims, which they followed up with a thumping 4-0 away victory over Ligue 1 champions Lille. They returned to action after the Marseille debacle with a 4-0 home success over Bordeaux. After the international break, Nice won 2-0 at Nantes to keep up their excellent start.

Our betting prediction:

Nice have taken ten points from a possible 12 and have kept four clean sheets this season. In fact, they are the only team in France’s top tier yet to concede a goal. Can they keep their impressive run going this weekend?

Monaco Preview – Can Monegasques avoid a fourth defeat in five?

Niko Kovac’s Monaco, who finished third in Ligue 1 last term, have had a tough start to this campaign. At the time of writing, the club from the Stade Louis II have won one, drawn one and lost three of five. They currently languish in 16th spot with just four points to their name.

Monaco failed to win any of their opening three, drawing with Nantes and losing to Lorient and Lens. However, they did secure a 2-1 away victory against Troyes on matchday three. Instead of building on the win, Monaco went backwards again, losing 2-0 at home to Marseille last time out.

Kovac’s troops will be desperate for a positive result at the weekend, but this will be another stern test for Monegasques. Having said that, Monaco are the slight favourites with the bookies.

Nice vs Monaco Betting Advice

On their way to third place in Ligue 1 last season, Monaco did the league double over Nice, winning 2-1 both home and away. They also prevailed in the French Cup meeting between the pair in March, with Kevin Volland and Ruben Aguilar scoring in a 2-0 away victory.

Key Facts – Nice vs Monaco Betting Tip

  • Monaco won all three league and cup meetings last term
  • Nice have taken ten points from four league matches
  • Monaco have picked up just one Ligue 1 victory this season

Despite Nice’s excellent start, out-of-form Monaco head to the Allianz Riviera as the slight favourites with the bookies. However, we do not see it that way, and we are backing Nice to move on to 13 points with a home win (13/8).

Kasper Dolberg has been in red-hot form at the start of this season, scoring three goals in his last two Ligue 1 appearances. The Denmark international is priced at 5/1 to open the scoring on Sunday.
