Norway – Can Norway make the most of home advantage?

Norway have made a slow and sluggish start to their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign as they find themselves languishing in the lower reaches of Group F in 5th place with just 1 point under their belts so far in these group stages.

Norway were handed a 2-1 defeat away at Group F favourites, Spain, in their opening match of their campaign but they followed this up with a point in an entertaining 3-3 draw at home with Sweden, and they once again hold home advantage for this important Friday night clash with Romania at their Ullevaal Stadion.

Norway are currently enjoying a promising spell of form as the hosts have lost just 2 of their last 12 matches in all competitions which were the loss at Spain and a 1-0 loss away at Bulgaria back in September of last year.

On home soil, Norway have made themselves a very hard team to beat as they’ve collected 7 wins out of their last 8 matches, and indeed, the Norwegians are unbeaten in their last 11 matches in their own backyard.

Romania Prediction – Can Romania put pressure on top two in Group F?

Romania occupy 3rd place in Group F and find themselves just 1 point behind 2nd placed Sweden ahead of their trip to Norway, thanks to a convincing 4-1 home win over the minnows, Faroe Islands, but they’ll be facing a tough assignment when they come up against an in-form Norwegian outfit in their own backyard here on Friday night.

Romania started their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign with a 2-1 loss away at Sweden, but the visitors have reason to be confident of getting something against Norway as they’ve suffered just 1 defeat out of their last 12 matches in all competitions.

Romania’s recent defeat at Sweden ended a solid sequence of 5 matches without defeat on the road, but they’re yet to beat Norway on their travels and are without a win win from their last two meetings against their hosts, drawing 1-1 and losing 1-0 respectively.

Romania have also failed to score in 5 of their last 12 away matches in European qualifying matches and a lack of goals on the road could perhaps be their achilles heel on their travels.

Key-Facts – Latvia v Israel

  • Norway are unbeaten in their last 11 matches at home in all competitions
  • Norway have won 7 of their last 8 matches at home in all competitions
  • Romania have lost just 1 of their last 12 matches overall

Betting Tips Verdict

Norway have certainly made themselves hard to beat at home and they could edge this one against Romania, but use the handicap in case it’s a draw.
