Nottingham Forest Preview – Can Forest find a way out?
Nottingham Forest slumped to a fifth defeat in six matches in this new Championship season when they suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Cardiff City, despite being 1-0 up at the City Ground and time appears to be running out for manager, Chris Hughton.
The bigger picture shows that Forest have now failed to win any of their last 12 matches overall in the English second tier and includes seven defeats while Nottingham Forest’s last home win came in a 2-1 win over QPR back in early April of last season.
Since that last home win, Forest have lost five of their subsequent six matches at the City Ground and they desperately need a result on Wednesday night.
Middlesbrough Preview – Can Boro bounce back?
Middlesbrough also tasted defeat in the Championship over the weekend when they lost 2-0 away from home at Coventry City and the visitors are by no means a guaranteed three points on Wednesday night despite the poor form of their hosts.
Boro have registered just one win from their opening six games of this new Championship season which was gained in the form of a 2-1 home win over Bristol City but the bigger picture shows that that has been Middlesbrough’s only highlight in their last eight matches overall.
The visitors have also won just one of their last nine away from home as well, and this may well be a tougher fixture for Boro than many imagine.
