Steve Cooper is the new man in charge of Nottingham Forest after the sacking of Chris Hughton. Cooper worked wonders at Swansea City during his time in South Wales, and the Welshman will be hoping to hit the ground running at the City Ground. First up for Cooper’s Forest is a home game against Gary Rowett’s Millwall in the EFL Championship this Saturday. Can the Reds pick up their first home league victory of the season?

Nottingham Forest Preview – Cooper to get off to a winning start?

Nottingham Forest were replaced at the bottom of the Championship by rivals Derby County in midweek after the Rams were deducted points having entered administration. The Reds have picked up the fewest points on the pitch, though, losing six of their first eight league matches.

Chris Hughton was sacked last week, and Nottingham Forest picked up their first league success of the season shortly after. An own goal and a Lewis Grabban effort gave the Reds a much-needed 2-0 victory against Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score – No

Earlier this week, Steve Cooper was unveiled as the new Forest manager. The Welshman took Swansea to the play-offs two seasons in a row, and he will surely lift the Reds up the Championship table. Can Cooper start with a victory on Saturday?

Millwall Preview – Will the Lions leave Nottingham with a point?

Gary Rowett’s Millwall are tough to beat, but too many draws have been their Achilles heel in recent times. The Lions were the draw specialists in the Championship last season, and the London club have already played out five draws in eight league matches this term.

Millwall find themselves in 17th spot after collecting just eight points from a possible 24. No team in the second tier have drawn more games than the Lions so far. The Londoners are unbeaten in four in the league, winning one and drawing three.

Millwall are not an easy nut to crack, with just Fulham and Cardiff City getting the better of them in the Championship this season. If they can start turning draws into wins, the south London outfit could be a dark horse in the play-off race.

After getting the monkey off their back last week, Nottingham Forest will be looking for another victory this Saturday. Cooper is an excellent up-and-coming manager, and the Forest board pulled off a real coup in persuading the former Swansea boss to sign on the dotted line at the City Ground.

Our money is going on the Nottingham Forest victory at 13/8. Another 2-0 Forest win is available at the tempting odds of 11/1.
