Notts County could move within two points of third placed Wycombe Wanderers if they take all three points against Yeovil Town at Meadow Lane on Saturday as the hosts go in search of a third win on the trot in League Two.
A four match slump without a win slowed The Magpies down as they’d suffered defeats to Chesterfield and Accrington Stanley (both of which were away from home), along with gaining just single points against Mansfield Town and Wycombe Wanderers in 1-1 and 0-0 stalemates respectively, but they have a good chance to make up ground here today.
Recent back-to-back wins over Coventry City and Colchester United has got Kevin Nolan’s boys back on track, and with an impressive home record that stands at 13-6-2 39/18 which includes four wins from their last six on home turf, Notts County seem to be in the box seat for this one.
Yeovil Town sit in a disappointing 18th place in League Two following a recent poor sequence of results which have seen The Glovers lose three of their last four with losses to Luton Town, Wycombe Wanderers and Accrington Stanley.
The fact that all three of these defeats were against the top three clubs in the division may well be a telling statistic, and they’ll do well to get anything at Meadow Lane on Saturday as the visitors look to improve upon an ordinary looking away record which stands at 4-6-11 28/44, particularly as they also possess the worst defensive record on the road in the division too.
Yeovil have captured just two away wins on their travels from their last nine played, and although they’ve picked up points in four draws and two wins within this sequence, a trip to Notts County will be a tough ask.
