Super League Betting at Coral

Olympiakos Prediction

Olympiakos sit in second place and nine points behind Super League leaders, PAOK, ahead of their Monday afternoon encounter with strugglers OFI Crete, but as they already hold one of the Champions League qualifying spots and hold a five point lead over third placed AEK Athens, the hosts will no doubt be keen to strengthen their position here.

Olympiakos will need to shrug off their midweek disappointment in the Europa League as they were sent out of the competition after losing 1-0 away at Dynamo Kiev in the second leg of the round of 16, following a 2-2 draw in the first leg at their Stadio Georgios Karaiskáki, but thoughts now turn to next seasons Champions League as they return to domestic competition in this fixture.

The hosts have been in blistering form with their progress being checked only by the league leaders, PAOK who have beaten them home and away, but Olympiakos possess a very good home record of 9-1-1 27/5 and have won their last five home matches on the trot.

This excellent winning streak includes the hosts notching a total of 17 goals and conceding just 2 in reply during this purple patch of form with midfielder Fortounis (9 goals) and forwards Guerrero (5 goals) and Koka (4 goals) cashing in.

Key-Facts – Olympiakos v Crete

  • Olympiakos have won their last 5 home matches on the trot
  • Crete are without an away win from their last 22 outings in the Super League
  • Crete have kept just 2 clean sheets in their last 22 away matches

OFI Crete Prediction

Visitors OFI Crete sit third from bottom and occupy a place in the relegation zone as they are three points adrift of safety with a very tough away trip to Olympiakos coming up on Monday afternoon, especially as Crete have suffered recent back-to-back defeats to AEK Athens and Lamia – the latter being a 3-1 loss at home.

Crete have managed just one league win from their last seven matches in the Super League which was a 3-0 home win over Panaitolikos, but defeats to Asteras Tripolis, PAOK, AEK Athens and Lamia have meant that the visitors still remain in the relegation zone.

Crete’s situation looks even bleaker when turning to results away from home as the visitors have yet to register an away win this season amidst a poor away record of 0-4-6 7/18 and indeed, they’ve failed to win any of their last 22 away matches in the Super League.

Within this lean period, they’ve failed to score in 11 of these 22 matches and have been involved in 16 of the 22 matches resulting in over 2.5 goals.

Betting Tips Verdict

This should therefore be a straightforward home win for Olympiakos with plenty of goals as well.
