Orlando City return to their Camping World Stadium for Wednesday night’s encounter with Toronto on the back of a much needed 1-0 win away from home at Real Salt Lake last time out.
Orlando’s win on the road at Real Salt Lake ended a dismal run of four matches without a win although three of those four matches were stalemates against Chicago Fire, Montreal Impact and Seattle Sounders.
Fourth placed Orlando have produced much more solid and impressive displays on home turf though as their home record of 6-3-1 15/10 shows, and so they’ll be confident they can take something from this match-up against a Toronto side who have been inconsistent on the road so far this season.
Visitors Toronto sit in second spot in the Eastern Conference and just two points behind leaders Chicago Fire as they make their way to Orlando, knowing all three points here could see them move top of the Conference.
However, despite an impressive home record where they’ve remained unbeaten so far in this campaign, recording a 7-2-0 21/6 record, their performances and results away from home have been far less impressive.
An away record of 3-3-3 10/12 reflects the problems they’ve had of putting together a run of any kind on their travels, with recent results of a draw at New York Red Bulls, followed by back-to-back defeats at New England Revolution 3-0 and FC Dallas 3-1.
Toronto have kept three clean sheets on the road to date, and they’ll be facing a solid unit in the shape of Orlando in their own backyard today.
