As the major European leagues take a break due to the internationals being played this weekend, this gives us a chance to look at some value in the second tiers and my next pick features such a situation with Osasuna taking on Cordoba as the betting tips continue in Spain’s Segunda Division.
Osasuna sit in 13th place on the Spanish second tier league ladder which is largely due to a poor away record so far this season as the hosts have failed to win a single match on their travels to date, losing three of their four matches played on the road, although they’ve lost just once in their last five overall.
Osasuna will therefore look to results at their Estadio El Sadar to lift them up the table and with a solid looking home record that stands at 2-2-0 5/2 which includes wins over top half sides Almeria and Sporting Gijon, the hosts look in good shape for further success here.
Cordoba currently occupy bottom spot in the Segunda Division despite recording their first win of the season last weekend when they grabbed all three points with a 1-0 home win over Almeria. This ended a disappointing run of seven league matches without a win and they’re now just two points adrift of 8th placed Elche ahead of this weekend’s action.
That said, a full recovery is far from being complete as Cordoba have lost all three of their away matches so far this season with heavy defeats at Albacete 3-0, Malaga 3-0 and a 4-2 loss at Granada.
An away record of 0-0-3 2/10 therefore doesn’t fill me with much confidence that they’ve turned a corner yet, and they face a tough task of getting anything out of Osasuna today I fancy.
