PEC Zwolle Prediction

Following an ordinary run of results which saw PEC Zwolle record just one win from nine matches, the hosts have clicked into gear with back-to-back wins against Ajax-slayers, Feyenoord 3-1 at home and a 2-0 win away at Heracles.

These two recent victories have helped lift PEC Zwolle away from the relegation zone although there’s still just three points separating them from the relegation play-off teams, so the hosts will be keen to make it three wins on the trot on Sunday afternoon.

However, this may be easier said than done for the hosts who have recorded just two league wins at their MAC³PARK Stadion amidst a fairly poor record of 2-2-6 14/19 with the two victories being over Excelsior and the aforementioned Feyenoord.

Forwards van Crooij and van Duinen (5 goals apiece) give the hosts a chance here, but they’re also prone to conceding goals too as 7 of their 10 home matches have seen both teams scoring.

Key-Facts – PEC Zwolle v Utrecht

  • 7 of PEC Zwolle’s 10 home matches have seen both teams score
  • 5 of Utrecht’s 9 away matches have seen both teams score
  • Both teams have scored in 6 of the last 7 meetings between these two clubs

Utrecht Prediction

Onto Utrecht, and the visitors occupy 6th place and sit in one of the Europa League qualifier spots ahead of their trip to face PEC Zwolle. Although they are amongst the top seven in the Eredivisie, the visitors have suffered three league defeats on the trot with losses incurred against Ajax, AZ Alkmaar and Willem II, so not ideal preparation in order to stop the rot here.

Utrecht also possess a fairly ordinary looking away record of 2-3-4 10/17 as it’s been their form at home that has thrust them up into one of the European spots so far this season. Of their total of 8 wins this season, 6 of them have come at their Stadion Galgenwaard, while Utrecht only have successes at Willem II and Heerenveen on their travels to date.

Both teams have scored in 5 of their 9 away matches so far this season, and with the likes of midfielder Gustafson (4 goals) along with forwards Kerk and Venema (4 goals apiece) in their attacking armoury, the visitors stand a good chance of netting themselves in this one.

Betting Tips Verdict

Neither side can be trusted for the straight win here, but both teams should hit the back of the net.
