Peterborough United Prediction – Can Peterborough break into play-off pack?

7th placed Peterborough United will be eyeing off all three points on Saturday when they play host to mid-table Lincoln City who still seem to be trying to adjust to life without the Cowley brothers at Sincil Bank.

After a shaky start to their new League One campaign, the hosts have suffered just 1 defeat out of their last 9 matches overall in League One which was a 2-0 loss away from home at Doncaster Rovers, but recent wins against hapless Rochdale 6-0 and a 3-2 win against AFC Wimbledon should give The Posh a boost ahead of this clash.

Peterborough had started the season in disastrous fashion as they’d suffered back-to-back defeats to Fleetwood Town and Oxford United, but Darren Ferguson’s side have since responded by making themselves hard to beat.

The home side hold a decent looking record of 3-1-1 15/7 at London Road which includes winning their last 3 home matches on the trot with victories over Sunderland 3-0, Rochdale 6-0 and AFC Wimbledon 3-2.

Lincoln City Prediction – Can Lincoln upset the odds again?

Last Saturday saw Lincoln City pull off what seemed a highly unlikely 2-0 home win against play-off candidates, Sunderland, at Sincil Bank last Saturday as The Imps registered their first win in League One since the departure of the Cowley brothers to Championship side, Huddersfield Town.

That win over the Black Cats ended a dismal run of 5 matches without a win in League One, a run that included recent defeats to Wycombe Wanderers, Bristol Rovers, Oxford United and Blackpool, but it should be noted that Lincoln City have still won only won 2 of their last 9 matches in the third tier.

The other win for Lincoln during this period was a 2-0 home win against Fleetwood Town, while results away from home have continued to desert The Imps as the visitors make their way to Peterborough on the back of 4 defeats out of their last 5 matches on their travels.

A poor away record of 1-1-4 7/10 doesn’t appear to bode well for Michael Appleton’s side who have hit a bit of a bump in the road in recent weeks, and they’ll be facing a stubborn Peterborough outfit on home turf this Saturday.
