Plymouth Argyle Prediction

Plymouth Argyle’s seasonal revival has once again clicked into gear as the hosts recorded a third league win on the trot on Saturday when they beat Coventry City 2-1 which followed earlier previous wins against Oxford United and Southend United.

Plymouth head into this encounter on the back of a four-match run without defeat as they’d also gained a point with a 1-1 draw away at Burton Albion, and they’ll be face another west midlands club on Tuesday night in the shape of 15th placed Walsall at their Home Park ground.

Plymouth’s home record has now improved to 5-3-6 21/25 but they still possess a worryingly leaky defence which has shipped 25 goals to date at home this season with only Scunthorpe United (31) and Rochdale (28) conceding more goals than Plymouth at home in League One this season.

The Pilgrims have kept just two clean sheets at home this season and this could be a key factor in this evening’s outcome down in the west country.

Key-Facts – Plymouth Argyle v Walsall

  • Plymouth Argyle have kept just 2 clean sheets at home all season
  • Walsall recorded a 3-0 win at Gillingham last weekend
  • All 5 of Walsall’s away wins so far have been against teams in the lower reaches of League One

Walsall Prediction

Walsall ended a six match sequence without a win in League One when they registered a convincing 3-0 win away at Gillingham to hand The Saddlers a much needed win after a dismal set of results.

The west midlands club had previous suffered defeats to Bradford City, Bristol Rovers, Charlton Athletic and Scunthorpe United, but Saturday’s win will give Walsall fresh confidence ahead of their trip down to Plymouth this Tuesday evening.

Walsall had also gone seven league matches without a win on their travels amidst an overall away record of 5-4-5 15/19 which had seen them lose five matches within this sequence but the win at Gillingham should give the visitors belief that they can get something from this encounter.

Walsall have recorded wins away at AFC Wimbledon, Rochdale, Oxford United and Bristol Rovers so far this season, all of whom occupy the lower reaches of League One.

Midfielders Ismail and Osbourne (3 goals apiece) along with forwards Cook (10 goals) and Ferrier (4 goals) should ensure Walsall take a point from this match.

Betting Tips Verdict

Plymouth’s revival continues but Walsall can get something from this clash.
