Poland Preview – Poles to make home advantage count?

Poland have responded well from an opening day defeat to Netherlands, picking up four points from their last two Nations League games. A Steven Bergwijn goal gave the Dutch a 1-0 victory over the Poles in Amsterdam in game one.

Poland followed up that opening defeat with an excellent 2-1 win over Bosnia & Herzegovina at Bilino Polje in Zenica, with Kamil Glik and Kamil Grosicki getting the goals. Then last weekend, Poland held Italy to a 0-0 draw at the Stadion Energa Gdansk.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score
4/5

Poland are well and truly in the mix to finish top of the pile in League A, Group 1. They are just a point behind leaders Italy, level on points with Holland. After taking on Bosnia on Wednesday, the White and Red Eagles end their campaign with a trip to Italy and a home match with Netherlands.

Bosnia & Herzegovina Preview – Golden Lilies to come up short in Wroclaw?

On paper, Bosnia & Herzegovina are the weakest link in the group. However, they have certainly held their own so far, drawing two and losing one of their opening three. Even though they can still reach the Nations League Finals, avoiding relegation to League B will be the main priority for Dusan Bajevic’s boys.

Bosnia started their Nations League campaign with a superb 1-1 draw with the Italians in Florence last month. A 2-1 home defeat to Poland followed, but the Golden Lilies held Holland to a goalless draw in Zenica last weekend.

Having lost to Northern Ireland in a UEFA Euro 2020/21 play-off, Bosnia’s full focus will now be on the Nations League. Can Bajevic’s troops cause an upset and leave Wroclaw on Wednesday with a positive result?

Poland vs Bosnia & Herzegovina Betting Advice

Since becoming Bosnia & Herzegovina, the Golden Lilies have faced Poland twice. In an international friendly back in December 2011, the Poles beat Bosnia 1-0. It was another tight affair last month, with Poland leaving Zenica with a 2-1 win thanks to goals from Glik and Grosicki.

Key Facts – Poland vs Bosnia & Herzegovina Betting Tip

  • Poland have won both of the previous two meetings
  • Bosnia & Herzegovina have failed to win any of their opening three Nations League matches this term
  • The Poles are just one point behind Group A1 leaders Italy

There is not a lot to split these two in terms of talent, but Poland’s experience should get them over the line in this crucial Nations League encounter. We can see it being tight on the scoreline yet again, so take a punt on Poland to win by one goal at 5/2.

Goal-machine Robert Lewandowski is the 11/4 favourite to open the scoring in this one. Back the Bayern Munich man – who recently netted four in one game against Hertha Berlin in the German Bundesliga – to score first on Wednesday.
