Poland Preview – Can Poland get off to a good start?

Poland come into this Euro 2020 competition having managed to achieve just one win out of their last seven matches in all competitions which came in the shape of a 3-0 home win against minnows, Andorra, but defeats to Italy, Netherlands and England within this period suggest that Poland are still a way off from challenging the top nations.

However, with just four defeats out of their last 18 matches overall, Poland look set to get something out of this Group E opener, especially with the likes of Lewandowski in their attacking personnel.

 

 

Slovakia Preview – Can Slovakia put up resistance?

Slovakia have suffered just one defeat out of their last six matches in all competitions which was a 2-0 loss away from home at Czech Republic but they’ve since put together a five-match unbeaten run which consists of four draws and just one win.

A 2-1 home win against Russia have been boosted by draws with Cyprus, Malta, Bulgaria and Austria but results away from home have not been so convincing as Slovakia have registered just three wins from their last 17 matches on their travels.

Wins at Azerbaijan, Hungary and Northern Ireland (in extra time) have been overshadowed by 10 losses and Slovakia could find themselves up against it here against Poland as well.
