It was the perfect start for Sergio Conceicao and his players last week as Luis Diaz excellent goal gave the Portuguese champions the lead away to Manchester City. Unfortunately, that was as good as it got for Porto as within minutes their opponents had equalised and went on to dominate the remainder of the game. It’s no surprise to see that Pedro Martins has brought a number of players from his homeland to Greece and it’s been a strategy that has really paid off. After finishing runners up in 2018/19, Olympiakos were comfortable winners of their domestic championship last season and also reached the last 16 of the Europa League, losing narrowly to Wolves.
Star of the show for Olympiakos is the experienced Youssef El-Arabi. He scored 20 in the league alone last season and is on five for this season already.
