Another League One club facing Championship opposition in this 4th round of the FA Cup features Portsmouth playing host to QPR as the betting tips continue at Fratton Park on Saturday afternoon.

FA Cup Betting at Comeon

Portsmouth Prediction

High-flying Portsmouth sit top of League One where they hold a single point margin over second placed Luton Town, but the hosts will turn their attentions to the 4th round of the FA Cup where they entertain QPR with a chance of making it through to the 5th round a very real possibility.

However, recent form has dipped somewhat for the south coast club as Pompey have managed just two wins from their last five matches which were victories against Fleetwood Town and AFC Wimbledon, but losses to Gillingham, Blackpool and Oxford United have shown a few weaknesses to Kenny Jackett’s side.

Whatever the result though, Portsmouth will always create plenty of goalscoring opportunities at Fratton Park while their defence hasn’t always been a tight ship; 10 of Portsmouth’s 19 matches at home in all competitions have seen both teams score.

Midfielders Lowe (10 goals) and Curtis (9 goals) along with forward trio of Evans (8 goals), Pitman and Hawkins (5 goals apiece) should see Portsmouth keep to their end of the bargain here.

Key-Facts – Portsmouth v QPR

  • 10 of Portsmouth’s 19 home matches this season have seen both teams score
  • QPR beat Championship leaders, Leeds United in the previous round
  • 5 of the last 7 meetings between these two sides have seen both teams score

QPR Prediction

QPR make their way from the nation’s capital down to the south coast having suffered recent back-to-back defeats to Sheffield United and Preston North End in the Championship, and the visitors now sit in a disappointing 14th place in the second tier after promising so much just a couple of months ago.

October saw QPR suffer just one defeat from their nine matches played in the Championship, but their inconsistent streak has let them down and has virtually dashed any lingering hopes they may have had of claiming a play-off spot as they now trail 6th placed Derby County by seven points.

A good run in the FA Cup is therefore a realistic way of bringing the goods times back to Loftus Road along with the trappings of prize money if The R’s can go deep in this competition.

Forwards Wells (6 goals), Freeman (5 goals) and Hemed (3 goals) will look upon this cup-tie as an opportunity to add to their goal tallies here.

Betting Tips Verdict

Portsmouth hold home advantage but have been a little off-colour in recent matches while QPR arguably possess greater quality, so I wouldn’t be surprised if both teams score in this one.
