Football – Europe – Euro 2016 Betting Tips

Portugal finally managed to win a game within the normal 90 minutes of a match when they beat Wales 2-0 in the semi-final, and they have proved that you don’t actually need to win a match in order to reach the final of a major tournament!

Similar to the Italians in previous tournaments, Portugal have somehow found a way to win and progress through this Euro 2016 even though throughout the majority of their matches they’ve been unconvincing, with many (including myself) expecting them to fall at each hurdle.

It was only in their recent semi-final against the Welsh that they finally appeared to be fulfilling their long-awaited promise on the international stage, and of course it helped when their talisman Cristiano Ronaldo scored with a bullet header – but we know that if Ronaldo doesn’t score, then the chances of Portugal scoring become increasingly unlikely.

Onto France, and their wave of national support has helped them through to another final of a major tournament that they’ve hosted, but unlike Portugal, the French have shown they are worthy of being finalists in the Euro 2016 having disposed of Germany in the other semi-final.

France had to endure heavy pressure in the first half against a German side who just couldn’t make the break through against a resolute French defence, and the hosts then grew into the game in the second half and in the end achieved a comprehensive win at the expense of the World Cup holders.

Strikers Giroud and, in particular, Griezmann were outstanding with the latter finishing in clinical fashion to take the game away from Germany – and with their midfield comprising of the likes of Pogba, Matuidi and Payet, they look likely to win the battle in the middle of the park against a weaker Portugal by comparison.
