Preston North End Preview – Can the Lilywhites finally win at home?

Preston North End sit 12th after seven games, winning three, drawing one and losing three. Alex Neil’s men have been poor at home, losing three out of three so far. Swansea City, Stoke City and Cardiff City have all won 1-0 at Deepdale. Also, Brighton & Hove Albion left with a 2-0 victory in the Carabao Cup.

Preston have been a completely different animal away from Deepdale this season. In fact, they have won four and drew one of five away league and cup games. North End have the best away record in the Championship ahead of this round of matches, taking ten points from a possible 12.

With their away form superb, it is hard to put your finger on why they have been so poor at Deepdale this term. Nevertheless, can Preston secure a massive three points on their own patch on Wednesday?

Millwall Preview – Lions to leave Lancashire with a point?

Millwall have been ultra-competitive once again in the Championship under Gary Rowett. We are only seven games in, but the Lions already look like promotion contenders. The London side are in sixth place at the time of writing, sitting on 12 points from a possible 21.

Since a 2-1 loss to Swansea City in South Wales, which remains their only league reverse, Millwall have picked up seven points from three games. Rowett’s troops beat Wycombe Wanderers and Luton Town before drawing 1-1 with Barnsley at The Den last time out.

Preston North End vs Millwall Betting Advice

Millwall edged both Championship meetings last term. A Jed Wallace effort gave the Lions a 1-0 win at The Den, while Shaun Hutchinson was on the scoresheet in a 1-0 victory at Deepdale. Prior to those victories, the Lions had not beaten the Lilywhites since January 2013.

Key Facts – Preston North End vs Millwall Betting Tip

  • Preston have yet to win at home in this season’s Championship
  • Millwall have been beaten just once in league action this term
  • The Lions beat North End 1-0 home and away last season

Preston are bound to get things right on home soil soon, but we can see Millwall frustrating the Lilywhites in this one. The last two meetings were very close encounters, and the pair could cancel each other out in Lancashire. You can get the draw at 21/10.

Since a thumping 4-0 EFL Cup win over Mansfield Town back in August, Preston have lost four league and cup fixtures in a row at Deepdale, failing to score in the process. The 0-0 draw in midweek is nicely priced at 6/1.
