Preston North End currently occupy the final play-off spot in the EFL Championship, while Queens Park Rangers are in 14th position. On Saturday, Alex Neil’s Lilywhites welcome Mark Warburton’s Rangers to Deepdale. Preston are a tough nut to crack, and the play-off hopefuls will be gunning for a 12th home league victory of the season on Saturday.

Preston North End Preview – Lilywhites hoping to avoid a third straight defeat
Despite losing three of their last four, Preston North End are in sixth place in the table at present. With ten matches left to play, North End have accumulated 56 points, with 36 of those coming at Deepdale.
Only third-place Fulham have taken more home points than Preston up until now. The Lilywhites have won 11, drawn three and lost four on their own patch in this season’s Championship.
Since coming from behind to beat Hull City 2-1 at Deepdale on February 22nd, Preston have lost each of their last two. Neil’s men were beaten 2-0 by West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns before suffering another 2-0 loss to Fulham at Craven Cottage last weekend.
Preston have done most of their damage on home turf this season, and after back-to-back away defeats, North End will want to get back to winning ways at the weekend. The hosts are the 21/20 favourites with the bookies.
Queens Park Rangers Preview – Can QPR leave Lancashire with a positive result?
Queens Park Rangers are arguably one of the most unpredictable teams in the Championship. On their day, the London side are capable of beating anyone, but they have lost 15 times already. QPR currently occupy 14 spot, nine points away from the play-offs and nine points above the bottom three.
The Hoops are unbeaten in five (two wins, three draws) since crashing to four league and cup defeats in a row. Although QPR have drawn their last two away games at Swansea City and Nottingham Forest (both 0-0), Mark Warburton’s side have not won on the road since a 2-0 victory at Birmingham City on December 11th. Only eight clubs have picked up fewer away points in the Championship up until now.

As I mentioned, QPR are an extremely unpredictable side these days. The bookies have them priced at 13/5 to get the win, but 5/2 for the draw has really caught my eye. Can the west London team leave Lancashire with a positive result at the weekend?
Preston North End vs Queens Park Rangers Betting Advice
In the reverse game in the English capital in early December, QPR secured a comfortable home victory. Eberechi Eze was the Hoops’ hero, netting either side of half time to give Warburton’s troops a deserved 2-0 win.
QPR have found wins hard to come by away from the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium this season. Since winning 50% of their opening ten away league matches, Rangers have failed to win on their travels, losing five and drawing two of seven.
Key Facts – Preston North End vs Queens Park Rangers Betting Tip
- Only Fulham have accumulated more home points (38) than Preston (36) in this season’s Championship
- QPR are unbeaten in their past five, drawing three and winning two
- Rangers have picked up just one away win since October
Preston have been superb at home this season as they push for a place in next season’s Premier League, but this could be a tricky game for a team who have lost three of their previous four. Take a punt on the draw and both teams to score (10/3).
