PSG Prediction

PSG simply outplayed Manchester United at OId Trafford in the first leg and fully deserved their 2-0 win in the first leg and they now hold home advantage at their Parcs des Princes on Wednesday night where they’ll be looking to finish the job and progress through to the quarter-finals of this competition.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have hit supreme form recently as they’ve collected 12 wins from their last 13 matches in all competitions, with the one blemish on their copy-book being a surprising 2-1 loss away at Lyon in the domestic Ligue 1.

Since then, however, PSG have gone on the rampage, winning their subsequent eight matches on the trot, scoring a total of 20 goals and conceding just 2 goals in reply. Ominously, although they were without both Neymar and Cavani for the first leg against United, the French club outplayed the Red Devils and they’ll no doubt fancy their chances of rubbing it in on Wednesday night.

The hosts have lost just one of their last 16 matches at home in the Champions League, which was to Real Madrid last March.

Key-Facts – PSG v Manchester United

  • PSG have won 12 of their last 13 matches in all competitions
  • PSG have lost just one of their last 16 matches at home in the Champions League
  • United have won just 4 of their last 10 away ties in the Champions League

Manchester United Prediction

After losing 2-0 at Old Trafford to tonight’s opponents, PSG, it looks very much a case of damage limitation for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men on Wednesday night with almost a full XI either out injured or suspended ahead of this second leg in Paris.

The likes of Pogba (suspended) along with Lingard, Matic, Sanchez, Mata, Martial and Herrera to name but a few will all be missing for this return leg, and with United (and Solskjaer) likely to be judged on whether they can finish in the top four in the Premier League this season, this tie may end up a bit of a ‘dead rubber’ as United look to concentrate on the league.

Domestic form still remains impressive as the visitors have won three of their last four in all competitions, but the injuries are mounting up and United will struggle to keep pace with a quality side such as PSG even without Neymar and Cavani.

United have won just four of their last 10 away ties in the Champions League, and this looks set to be four from 11 on Wednesday night.

Betting Tips Verdict

PSG will be keen to finish the job here against an injury-riddled Manchester United outfit, and book their place in the quarter-finals.
