Ligue 1 action continues in the nation’s capital on Wednesday night with Paris Saint Germain having a night off from European action, but turning their attention back to the domestic top division when they take on Montpellier as the betting tips continue at the Parc des Princes.

Runaway Ligue 1 leaders, PSG, hold a commanding 12-point lead at the top of the french top flight and are once again homing in on another domestic league title with an excellent home record which has seen the hosts preserve an amazing 100% winning record on home turf, winning all 12 of their home matches to date.
PSG come into this match still on a high after recently beating Manchester United 2-0 away from home at Old Trafford in last week’s first leg of the round of 16 knockout phase in the Champions League, and with six wins from their last seven in the domestic Ligue 1, the hosts look to be well on their way for all three points in Wednesday night’s encounter with Montpellier.

Montpellier will make their way to Paris feling slightly better about their upcoming clash with PSG knowing the likes of Neymar and Cavani are expected to be absent from the PSG line-up on Wednesday night, but they still; have to deal with prolific striker Mbappe as the visitors look to lift themselves up into European contention this evening.
Montpellier have also put together a decent run, albeit a more circumspect sequence which has seen them undefeated in their last six matches overall in Ligue 1 which includes a 2-0 home win against Caen, but also five draws.
This stubborn streak shown by the visitors needs to be taken into consideration for tonight’s clash against PSG, especially as Montpellier are also unbeaten in their last four away matches on the trot which incidentally were also four stalemates!
Montpellier possess an away record of 4-6-2 13/10 which includes just two defeats on their travels that underlines Montpellier’s stubborn streak on the road, while eight of their 12 away matches have seen under 2.5 goals to date.

PSG are heavy favourites to win this clash and this is reflected in the odds offered up by the bookies, but without Neymar and Cavani, maybe the goals market should be explored in greater detail here; with the Mbappe factor taken into consideration, there’s merit in backing the under 3 goals line here.
