QPR Prediction

QPR sit in a disappointing 18th place in the second tier and although they hold a nine point cushion ahead of the relegation zone, manager Steve McClaren will be concerned about the dramatic slump that his side have experienced in the past few weeks as his side have lost eight of their last nine matches overall.

The hosts are seemingly in free-fall mode right now, but surprisingly, they did manage to put a spanner in the works of Leeds United recently when they beat the 2nd placed Yorkshire outfit 1-0 at Loftus Road last time out on home turf.

This rare win ended a run of three straight defeats on the trot to Preston North End, Birmingham City and West Brom, so perhaps this could see The R’s spark a revival against Stoke City on Saturday afternoon?

QPR possess a home record that has been dented by these three recent defeats of 8-2-7 26/24 but they’ll have been boosted by their win over Leeds United, especially with the fact that they also kept a clean sheet too.

Key-Facts – QPR v Stoke City

  • QPR ended a run of 3 defeats at home when they beat Leeds United 1-0
  • Stoke City haven’t won away from home in their last 9 matches on the road
  • Stoke City have drawn 6 of their last 9 matches away from home

Stoke City Prediction

Not that Stoke City have fared much better either under manager Nathan Jones as The Potters sit in 16th place in the Championship but perhaps they’ve turned a corner in recent times as the visitors are now unbeaten in their last four matches overall in the second tier.

Three draws against Wigan Athletic, Ipswich Town and Aston Villa in 0-0, 1-1 and 1-1 stalemates respectively, along with a solid 2-0 home win over Nottingham Forest is a vast improvement upon Stoke’s previous results which saw The Potters lose six of their previous eight matches in the Championship.

However, before we get too carried away, the fact remains that Stoke City are still without an away win from their last nine matches on their travels, with their last success being a 1-0 win away at Bristol City back in October of last year when former manager Gary Rowett was in charge.

An away record of 2-10-5 17/24 is laden with draws and this outcome needs to be kept onside here in this clash I feel, but perhaps the fact that Stoke have really struggled away from home for some time now gives QPR the slight edge here.

Betting Tips Verdict

Although QPR recently lost three on the trot at home, their recent win over Leeds United would have been a massive boost and backing The R’s with the handicap here looks the sensible play.
