Queens Park Rangers Preview – Will QPR build on Saturday’s draw at Bournemouth?

Queens Park Rangers have had an indifferent start, picking up just one league win so far. On the opening weekend in September, Rangers beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium. However, they have collected just three points from 12 on offer since then.

On matchday two, the Hoops were on the wrong end of a five-goal thriller against Coventry City at St Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium, losing 3-2 in Birmingham. Since then, though, QPR have drawn three on the spin in the league.

Our betting prediction:
QPR to win & both teams to score
4/1

After drawing 1-1 with Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday, Mark Warburton’s men held in-form Bournemouth to a goalless draw at the Vitality Stadium last weekend. Having failed to win in the league since game one, can the Londoners secure a much-needed three points on home soil this Wednesday?

Preston North End Preview – Neil’s boys to crash to another damaging defeat?

Alex Neil’s Preston North End have had a strange batch of results so far. Away from home, they have drawn with Norwich City and beaten Brentford. In the game at the Brentford Community Stadium before the international break, North End were two goals down at half time before going on to win 4-2 in the capital.

They have been dreadful at home, though, losing all three of their Championship games at Deepdale. In fact, since thumping Mansfield Town in the first round of Carabao Cup, Neil’s boys have lost successive league and cup home matches against Swansea City, Brighton & Hove Albion, Stoke City and Cardiff City.

Preston have taken just four points so far, so the Lancashire club could really do with maximum points in midweek. The North End victory is currently priced at 15/8.

Queens Park Rangers vs Preston North End Betting Advice

QPR had Preston’s number in the Championship last season. After a 2-0 home victory, Rangers picked up an impressive 3-1 victory at Deepdale in March, with Grant Hall, Ryan Manning and Eberechi Eze on the scoresheet for ten-man Rangers.

Key Facts – Queens Park Rangers vs Preston North End Betting Tip

  • QPR beat Preston home and away last season, scoring five times to boot
  • The last draw was back in 2016, nine meeting ago
  • The Hoops have lost only one Championship match so far this season

Preston will still be gutted after Sunday’s home loss to Cardiff, while QPR will be hoping to build on their excellent point against Bournemouth. This will surely be close on the scoreline, but we are backing the hosts to make home advantage count.

QPR are available at 16/5 to win by a one-goal margin on Wednesday. There is also good value in the R’s victory and both teams to score at 4/1.
