Raith Rovers Preview – Are Rovers set to make it four consecutive home wins to start their season?
Playing in the second tier of Scottish football for the first time in three years always meant it was going to be interesting to see how Raith adapted. The Championship season may just be four games old but the early signs are very good. Rovers 5-0 win at home to Morton on Saturday sees them sit top of the table with 10 points. Dundee are the only team to have taken points from them so far in the league.
It remains to be seen if Raith can continue their level of form but it’s certainly been an encouraging start in a league which many feel will be dominated by Hearts.
Inverness Preview – Will Caley end their run of three straight away games to pick up vital win?
It’s not the start to the season that John Robertson would have been hoping for in terms of results but there have been some positives from losing performances. Saturday’s 2-1 defeat away to Hearts in the Championship was their second loss at Tynecastle (also losing in this competition). Caley also lost away to Dunfermilne to start their league campaign but the Pars are currently joint-top along with Rovers.
Inverness’ home form has been more encouraging with four points from their first to league games with a win over Arbroath and draw against Ayr.

Caley’s only other match in the League Cup was a home draw against Cowdenbeath but a game they eventually prevailed on penalties meaning they sit on two points in this group. For a team who often target the cup competitions they know they have to get a win here if they hope to progress.
Bulgarian striker Nikolay Todorov has been their go to man for goals so far this season. Before the defeat to Hearts on Saturday, Todorov had scored in three consecutive games and is establishing himself as their first choice striker.
Raith Rovers vs Inverness Betting Advice
These teams will know each other very by the end of the season as they are set to play at least three times in the Championship. They’ve also met in the last two group stages of the League Cup and it’s Inverness who have came out on top the past two occasions. Both of those wins were in the Highlands, however, so Raith will be hoping to take advantage of playing at home.
Key Facts – Raith Rovers vs Inverness Betting Tip
- Raith sit top of the Championship following their promotion winning campaign in 2019/20
- A couple of defeats to Hearts and high-flying Dunfermilne mean Inverness are still looking for their first away win
- Raith have scored 10 goals in their three home games so far this season
The loser of this game will know their participation in the League Cup is over until next season. As stuffy and competitive as Inverness are, the way in which Raith Rovers have started the season is impressive. And I’m taking them to make it four straight wins at Starks Park.
