Brondby got off to the past possible start on the opening weekend and will be looking to continue that against a Randers team who suffered defeat in their first match.

Randers Preview – Can Randers bounce back from opening day defeat to get first points of the season?

It certainly was not the start Randers would have been hoping for when going down 2-1 away to SonderjyskE. Having reached the Europa League playoffs last season hopes would have been high coming into this campaign only for it to fall a little flat. Nobody enjoys losing, especially on the opening day when optimism is abound, but the challenge is always how teams bounce back from that. Head coach Thomas Thomasberg is beginning his second season in charge and will take confidence from his maiden campaign. It may have ended on a sour note but the progress was clear and the standard has been set.

The Austrian Martin Egho enjoyed a productive first season at the club as well in 2018/19 scoring eight goals in the league. It may have ended in defeat but the attacker got his team’s only goal last week and will be in confident mood ahead of Sunday’s game.

Brondby Preview – Will Brondby build on a resounding win last weekend and secure another three points?

Three goals and three points. That was the story of Brondby’s first game of the 2019/20 season and they will be looking for that form to continue in what lies ahead. European qualification is arguably their realistic aim for each season and that was achieved in the last campaign. That European campaign has already begun. Despite a 2-0 second leg defeat Brondby managed past Inter Turku to the second round of the Europa League qualification. A more difficult challenge lies ahead in the form of Polish outfit Lechia Gdansk. Before that, it’s all about domestic business and looking to match champions Kobenhavn with two wins from two.

A title challenge, although unlikely, is not out the question provided Brondby can get a fast start and keep the pressure on both the champions and Midtjylland. The secret to doing that is picking up the wins against the other teams, especially on the road. Tomorrow’s game will give us a good indication as to just where Brondby will be in the pecking order.

Randers v Brondby Betting Advice

This is a repeat of last season’s Europa League Playoff final which Brondby won 4-2. Randers will not have to be reminded of the fact they were two goals up in that final only to blow it and concede four goals without reply in the last 35 minutes. As the higher-ranked team in the regular season competition Brondby had the advantage of playing at home but it will be a different test on Sunday.

Brondby had the upper hand in that playoff final and that continued their good record against this opponent. They have not lost to Randers since September 2014. Since then Brondby have won eight and drawn four times. It’s a brilliant record and will be sure to give them confidence ahead of this trip. The only slight concern would be that disappointing defeat in the Europa League against a weak opponent. If you can forgive them for that, factoring in they were well ahead in the tie, then they look a good bet at a good price to take all three points home with them.
