Randers Preview – Can Randers bounce back from opening day defeat to get first points of the season?
It certainly was not the start Randers would have been hoping for when going down 2-1 away to SonderjyskE. Having reached the Europa League playoffs last season hopes would have been high coming into this campaign only for it to fall a little flat. Nobody enjoys losing, especially on the opening day when optimism is abound, but the challenge is always how teams bounce back from that. Three goals and three points. That was the story of Brondby’s first game of the 2019/20 season and they will be looking for that form to continue in what lies ahead. European qualification is arguably their realistic aim for each season and that was achieved in the last campaign. That European campaign has already begun. Despite a 2-0 second leg defeat Brondby managed past Inter Turku to the second round of the Europa League qualification. A more difficult challenge lies ahead in the form of Polish outfit Lechia Gdansk. Before that, it’s all about domestic business and looking to match champions Kobenhavn with two wins from two.
A title challenge, although unlikely, is not out the question provided Brondby can get a fast start and keep the pressure on both the champions and Midtjylland. The secret to doing that is picking up the wins against the other teams, especially on the road. Tomorrow’s game will give us a good indication as to just where Brondby will be in the pecking order.

The only slight concern would be that disappointing defeat in the Europa League against a weak opponent.
