Rangers take on Motherwell at Ibrox as the betting tips continue in the Scottish top flight with both Rangers and Celtic in action today.
Although it looks like Rangers have struggled in recent times with just one win from their last five matches in all competitions, Steven Gerrard’s side could theoretically move to the top of the Premiership as they have two games in hand over early league leaders, Hearts, who suffered a surprise 1-0 loss at home to Kilmarnock on Saturday.
Recent defeats awat Aberdeen in the League Cup and a midweek 4-3 loss away at Spartak Moscow in the Europa League seemingly make Rangers’ recent form pretty ordinary, but switching back to the league and Rangers have won three of their last four.
Wins against Hearts 3-1, Hamilton Academicals 4-1 and a 2-0 win away at St Mirren have kept the ‘Gers in the hunt for at least a top six finish this season, while their home record reads an impressive 4-1-0 15/3, scoring 2 goals or more in 4 of their 5 home matches to date.
Motherwell sit in 9th place on the Premiership league ladder having secured just three league wins so far this season, but two of them have been registered away from their Fir Park ground.
The visitors will make their way to Glasgow looking to rack up a third win on the trot too following back-to-back wins over St Mirren and Dundee as ‘Well have made the most of playing the bottom two teams in the Premiership in consecutive matches.
However, Motherwell will have their work cut out to get a result at Ibrox today I feel despite an away record of 2-0-3 6/8 which includes wins at Dundee and St Mirren. But defeats at Hibernian, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock suggest a result at Rangers may well be beyond them today.
