Reading Review – Can Reading continue their great form after a comfortable 2-0 last weekend?

The royals have had a very strong performance so far since the return of competitive football. Two wins from two and 5 goals in those two matches wouldve b=made team spirits very high at this moment in time.

Lucas Joao is very much the man of the moment right now. A Hat-trick last week against Colchester in the Carabao cup and then another goal and an assist assured the whole reading team if they didn’t know already that he is the star man.

Reading as a whole have many options from an attacking standpoint and have recruited smart additions to bolster their side. The other scorer on Saturday: Ovie Ejaria, who has been made a permanent transfer from Liverpool this year has been a mainstay in this reading side since his loan last year.

Which was only intensified by the fact that he was an important factor in the tie on saturday playing on the left-hand side. Josh Laurent, the midfielder from Shrewsbury has also put in some admirable performances since his arrival that has shown that he belongs at this level.

Defensively, Reading earned their first clean sheet of the season, which was impressively away from home. Not always an easy feat to accomplish. Centre back Liam Moore looks back to his old self, reassured in possession and strong in challenges. This could be a really big season for the former u21 international.

It would seem that this Reading side has amassed a group that may be seen as underdogs for playoff qualification, there is still a lot of games left to be played until we know for certain but so far they’re doing all the right things to reach that milestone.
