Following a run of disappointing results, Reading will be keen to set the record straight in the Championship’s evening kick-off against Norwich City when the teams meet at the Madejski Stadium.
Reading find themselves in 18th place in the Championship after four matches without a win in recent weeks as they’ve fallen to defeats to Bristol City and Millwall, along with draws against Brentford and Hull City, both in 1-1 stalemates.
The Royals are usually pretty solid on home turf though, and with just one defeat so far, which was a 1-0 loss to Bristol City, they’ll still be confident of getting a result here today. Indeed, the hosts have lost just once from their last 15 at home in the Championship to date.
Visitors Norwich City occupy a mid-table position in the Championship ahead of their trip to Berkshire today, despite putting together a five match unbeaten run following back-to-back defeats to Aston Villa and Millwall earlier.
Recent wins over Birmingham City, Sheffield United and Middlesbrough (the latter two results being achieved away from home), along with draws against Burton Albion and Bristol City, have lifted The Canaries in recent weeks.
However, Norwich’s away form has always been sporadic, and they possess an inconsistent streak which is evident in their away record of 2-1-2 5/9, and they ended up on the losing side in their last visit to Reading, being beaten 3-1 on Boxing Day.
