Reading Prediction

It’s been a very difficult campaign for Reading so far this season as The Royals continue to battle against relegation and they currently occupy second from bottom in the Championship but just two points separate them from Bolton Wanderers sitting in 21st place.

Reading now have a third manager in place so far this season with the recent appointment of Portuguese manager Jose Gomes who replaced former boss Scott Marshall, who in turn replaced Paul Clement who started the season.

Various avenues have been explored in order to kick-start Reading’s season, but the hosts come into this clash having failed to win any of their last nine league matches, and have registered just one win from their last 12 matches overall.

A home record of 3-2-7 16/18 includes no wins from their last four and recent back-to-back defeats to Sheffield United and Middlesbrough.

Swansea City Prediction

Graham Potter’s Swansea City outfit have struggled to record consistent results in the Championship this season and the visitors accordingly sit in a mid-table position ahead of the New Years Day clash with Reading.

As each game passes, it’s looking extremely likely that The Swans will be resigned to another season in the second tier following last season’s relegation from the Premier League, and they come into this encounter without a win from their last three matches which include defeats to Hull City and Aston Villa along with a draw against Wigan Athletic.

Swansea’s inconsistencies also encompass their away form where they hold a record of 4-3-5 12/13 but although they’ve lost in almost equal measure as they’ve won, wins so far at Sheffield United, Millwall, Bolton Wanderers and Brentford show they’re capable of getting it right on their travels.

Betting Tips Verdict

Reading have been poor recently but although Swansea have struggled for consistency, they stand a good chance of getting something out of this clash.
