Reading Preview – Royals to extend unbeaten run to four?

Veljko Paunovic hit the ground running at the Madejski Stadium after arriving in the summer. Reading won seven and drew one of their opening eight to fire themselves to the top of the table. However, it rapidly went downhill for the Royals, as they went on to lose each of their next four.

Since letting a two-goal lead slip to lose 4-2 at Bournemouth on November 21st, Reading are unbeaten in three. After a 1-1 draw at Millwall, Paunovic’s side picked up their first win in six last Saturday, beating Bristol City 3-1 at the Madejski. Reading followed that up with a 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough in midweek.

Our betting prediction:
Reading to win to nil

(odds taken 0922 GMT, Friday 4 December)

After one win in seven, Reading will be desperate for all three points on their own patch. The Berkshire club could end the week at the top of the Championship table if results go their way.

Nottingham Forest Preview – Another disappointing defeat for Hughton’s Reds?

In contrast to Reading’s stunning start, Nottingham Forest kicked off their 2020-21 Championship season with four straight defeats. They also lost at Barnsley in the opening round of the Carabao Cup in early September.

Sabri Lamouchi was sacked in October, with the experienced Chris Hughton taking over at the City Ground. The Reds have certainly improved under new management, with Hughton guiding Forest to wins over Blackburn Rovers, Coventry City and Wycombe Wanderers.

However, Nottingham Forest have failed to win any of their last four, losing three and drawing one. After a good draw with high-flying Watford on Wednesday, can the Reds leave Berkshire with a positive result this weekend.

Reading vs Nottingham Forest Betting Advice

Last season, the meetings at the Madejski and the City Ground both ended in 1-1 draws. Forest have struggled in this fixture in recent years, winning just one of the last six.

Key Facts – Reading vs Nottingham Forest Betting Tip

  • Reading have won six of their opening nine league and cup games at the Madejski
  • Nottingham Forest have picked up just one point from the last 12 on offer
  • Forest have not won away at Reading since a 3-0 league victory back in February 2015

Reading have responded well after suffering four losses in a row. We fancy the Royals to claim a ninth league victory of the season this Saturday.

Nottingham Forest have failed to score in each of their last four defeats. In fact, they have lost without finding the net on eight occasions in all competitions this term. There is great value in the 2-0 Reading win in this one at 9/1.

Lucas Joao has had an excellent season so far, already netting ten Championship goals. The 27-year-old Portuguese has scored four in his last four outings. Back Joao to notch anytime on Saturday at 15/8.
